Research - Animation 1
I had a look at some short animations on youtube, I liked these so I uploaded some examples onto here. These range in styles and complexity but all are effective and interesting in there own way. I have not yet chosen specific videos which relate to my music these are just general examples.
My Music - Squarepusher Kill Robok
The music I was giving was called Squarepusher Kill Robok. The first thing that came to mind when I listened to this was that it had a very futuristic and techo like feel. This made me think of robots or other future like objects. I did a couple of brainstorms, just to write down what first came into my head when I listened to this music.
New Project - Print to Pixel
A short post to show the start of a new project, print to pixel. Im looking forward to this project, it looks fun and could have some interesting outcomes. I have to create a 30 second animation which is based on a piece of music we have been given.

Chosen Photograph
After several photographs I finally got one which was just what I wanted. I managed to get the shadow just right along with the positioning of all the different models and type. At this point I was very close to finishing the poster, I just needed to add the logo of GF Smith onto it. I found the image on the website which you can see below the photograph, I then added this to my poster.
Practice Photographs
Here are some practice photographs I took. These pictures had different things wrong with them, some were wonky or not in focus and others did not have enough shadow for what I wanted, so I kept going until I got a picture that had everything right.

Poster Creation
The three images I have uploaded here show the main parts of my poster. These include a simplified sculpture design, with less petals and a different shape to fit the poster, smaller triangle flowers and my chosen typeface hand drawn onto card.
Poster Development
I have taken a few pictures of my development process in my sketchbook, here I have created a good poster layout and chosen a suitable typeface. I now need to take these ideas and designs and apply them to my final poster which I need to photograph and create.

Research 2
After looking at Richard Sweenys lighting techniques I found a designer called Daniel Grein and I have uploaded some images of his paper sculptures. I really like his use of shadow with the light and dark spaces, I think this will be something I take into account when creating my poster because it really brings out the shape and details of whats being photographed.

Task 2 - Research
Whilst thinking about poster design for task 2 I had a look back at some of Richard Sweenys work and these are some examples of hanged sculptures he has created. I chose these because of the lighting techniques used, he has supplied light from the inside which lights up the sculptures in a really nice way.

Creating Final Piece for Task 1
These Images show the development of my final sculpture for task 1. I started by cutting out the first three centre petal shapes with which I chose to decorate with smaller petals. I kept these in a pattern based on repeat so it stayed within the briefs theme. Next I repeated the first step and cut out another three petals but this time larger so they could be placed under the first three. Aslo instead of cutting out smaller petals I left only the outline of the shape. This was starting to look much more decorative so I carried on and made another two layers, repeating what I did with the first two. When I got to the fourth layer I missed one petal off one side of the sculpture, this was for two reasons. One was because I decided I wanted a couple more smaller petals around the outside to make it more circular and flower shaped but I also wanted to use the same sculpture idea for my poster. This way I could take away parts or add things to my sculpture to change it to fit well within my poster design.
